Pure White Line Shrimp (PWL)


This is a selectively bred type of Crystal shrimp that has a completely white body without any stripes or spots of other colors.
Pure White Line shrimp are a pure line. This means that their offspring will not include other types of shrimp (such as Red Crystal, Black Crystal, etc.).
Depending on the feeding and the molting period, the shell may take on shades ranging from snow-white to milky.

Blueish spots may periodically appear on the carapace of PWL shrimp. This is the color of the internal organs of the head showing through the shell when the shrimp has recently molted.

Saturated body color of shrimp, set of eggs by females and high survival of fry largely depends on proper and balanced nutrition of shrimp.

The diet should include plant and protein foods.


White Crystal keeping

This type of shrimp reaches a size of 2.5-3 cm in length. Males usually remain slightly smaller than females. The lifespan of the Crystal is about two years. The main requirement for successful maintenance and breeding of Crystal shrimp is the stability of water parameters.

Every 5-6 weeks, the female forms up to 30 eggs, from which hatch already formed fry 1.5-2 mm in size.

Particular attention should be paid to the presence of shelters for fry and molting shrimp.
Small logs, Cholla cactus tubes, and mosses are excellent as shelters.
