Calibration solution pH 4.01
Calibration solution for calibration ph meter - pH 4.01 - powder (fixanal) for self-creation of 250 mL buffer solution pH 4.01, which allows periodic check for accuracy of ROP meters of various brands and manufacturers.
Preparation of calibration buffer solution:
A 250 mL plastic or glass vessel with visible volume divisions is taken to prepare the calibration (buffer) solution. Fixanal is poured into the vessel and distilled or deionized water (with a temperature of 25⁰S) is carefully poured through the funnel, the volume is brought to 250 mL and mixed.
The calibration solution is ready.
The pH of the calibration solution depends on the temperature. This dependency is specified in the table on the back of the fixed-channel package. To accurately calibrate the electrodes using buffer solutions, the temperature at which the solution is used must be measured. The instrument shall then be calibrated to the corresponding pH.
IMPORTANT!
Buffer solutions deteriorate when exposed to air and light. Therefore, they should be stored in sealed opaque containers, at room temperature, in a place protected from light. The solutions used are recommended to be disposed of rather than returned back to the storage container, as this may result in a faster loss of accuracy of the entire base solution.
To obtain the most accurate result, use a fresh buffer solution, pouring the necessary portion from the main vial.
How often to calibrate?
If you assume the readings are incorrect
If aggressive fluids (very acidic or very alkaline) are tested
After electrode replacement
Calibration of PH-meter
Country - manufacturer: China
Expiry date: closed - unlimited
Immerse ph meter in a solution having a temperature of 25⁰S, stirring slightly for about 30 sec.Wait for the readings on the screen/display of the device to stabilize. As a rule, calibration is performed by rotating the adjusting screw. The values shown by the instrument must match the known pH of the calibration solution.
